ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Carmen Weller is a graduate of Tabor College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education. She taught grades 5-12 vocal music for seven years where her junior and senior high groups consistently earned regional and state superior ratings at festivals. Her students also participated in the South Central KMEA Honor Choirs as well as State KMEA and KCDA Honor Choirs. Carmen is in her second year of directing the Newton Community Children’s Choir as well as teaching fifth and sixth grade vocal music at Sante Fe 5/6 Center in Newton. She is married with three kids and lives in North Newton.

ACCOMPANIST

Melody Wiens Bontrager is a graduate of Bethel College where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a minor in Music. She is a member of the Kansas Music Teachers Association as well as the Newton Music Teachers Association.  Currently, Melody works as a registered nurse at Newton Medical Center. In addition, she enjoys performing and accompanying.  Melody resides in North Newton with her husband, Greg, and three children, Marissa, Shawn and Seth.
